Sweeping Lesson Part 1 (Conquer All Solo)

What is an arpeggio ? The sounding of the notes of a chord in rapid succession instead of simultaneously. In my time. The shapes themselves aren't that difficult, it's just the timing and smoothness that needs a bit of practice. Here few good chord shapes to arpeggiate are included for you to use as sweep picks, but you need to examine other chords more closely to find starting points and root notes. Then just try to arpeggiate them. Don't jump into the 5 or 6 string sweeps, begin with smaller shapes. Few Hints : 1. Use a clean tone to get the volumes of each note right while you practice. Distortion/Overdrive will override your mistakes 2. Let your pick fall or drop onto the adjacent string and don't pick the strings with individual picking movements. Lars Mikael Åkerfeldt: The Backbone Of Opeth

Lars Mikael Åkerfeldt is a Swedish musician who achieved fame as the lead vocalist/lead guitarist and songwriter of progressive death metal band Opeth as well as the lead vocalist of death metal band Bloodbath. He is known for his progressive rock-influenced songwriting style and his frequent use of both clean and growled vocals. A native of Stockholm, Mikael Åkerfeldt was the vocalist for Eruption, a death metal band which he formed in 1988. After Eruption came to an end in 1990, he joined Opeth, ostensibly as a bassist. When vocalist David Isberg insisted Åkerfeldt join the band, all other members left. Isberg assumed guitar duties, and when he left Opeth two years later, Åkerfeldt replaced him as the vocalist. Åkerfeldt is a collector of obscure 1970s rock and heavy metal albums. He also tends to show his influence from these obscure bands, making reference to them in titles of Opeth songs, such as "Blackwater Park", "Still Life" and "Master

Mark Tremonti: Amazing Guitarist And Composer

Mark Tremonti’s greatest passion in life, aside from his family, is his guitar. It has been that way for the twenty-three years since he picked his first one up and continues to this day. Introduced at an early age to music by his brothers while growing up just outside of Detroit, Mark spent his youthful days listening to many of the classic rock bands of the 70’s and 80’s. Music was a major part of his life in every aspect and he was drawn to the guitar like a moth to flame. At age eleven he got his first guitar, a cheap imitation Les Paul, and proceeded to begin playing with his thumb. He had no clue how to play the instrument, yet he did not care. He had a guitar and it was making noise. He was in heaven. After the initial excitement wore off, Mark decided to get serious and take lessons from a professional. It turned out to be only one lesson. The teacher wanted to teach Mark the basics while Mark wanted to jump straight into a Metallica song. When the teacher told Mark th
