In Flames

Early Days: In Flames was formed in 1990 when Jesper Stromblad left the band Ceremonial Oath and teamed up with Johan Larsson and Glenn Ljungström. The first incarnation of In Flames recorded the album The Lunar Strain which wasn't released for a few years. After using musicians from several other bands on vocals and drums the band recruited vocalist Anders Friden and drummer Bjorn Gelotte to record the album The Jester Race, which was released in 1995. Upheaval: The Jester Race was successful and In Flames began touring the world. After their third album, Whoracle, was released in 1997 Larsson and Ljungström left the band. They were replaced by bassist Peter Iwers and guitarist Niklas Engelin. Engelin departed shortly thereafter. That's when Bjorn Gelotte switched from drums to guitar and they recruited drummer Daniel Svensson. Dave Mustaine's Fued with Metallica

Mustaine claims to have written several Metallica songs, most notably "Leper Messiah". Metallica refuses to recognize this. Many Megadeth fans believe that "Master of Puppets" was Mustaine's work and that Metallica ripped it off without paying proper credit or royalties. Mustaine is given minor credit for his work on "The Call of Ktulu," but there are arguments between the Mustaine and Metallica fans on how much of the song he actually wrote (in any event, Megadeth clearly adapted some of the music from "The Call of Ktulu" to their own song "Hangar 18"). In 2004, the Mustaine-Metallica feud re-ignited when footage of Mustaine was used in the documentary ''Some Kind of Monster''. Mustaine claims that the video segment was edited in an effort to show him in an unflattering manner. In an interview with Metal Maniacs magazine, Mustaine called Ulrich a "treacherous little man"; Mustaine also wrote the song ...

ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA

Rock Star: Supernova was the second season of the reality television show Rock Star. The show, hosted by Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke, featured 15 contestants competing to become the lead vocalist for a newly formed supergroup featuring Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. As the show's name implies, the new group was to be called Supernova; however, another band named Supernova was granted an injunction against the television supergroup stating that they cannot use the name "Supernova" for any promotion or perform under that name. With this judicial ruling, the band announced their official name would be "Rock Star Supernova". The show began online on the Rock Star web site on MSN on Monday, July 3rd with an Internet exclusive weekly episode and premiered on 5 July 2006 on CBS in the United States and Global in Canada. Votes could be cast on the Rock Star website or by t...
