APOCALYPTICA: SYMPHONIC METAL INSTRUMENTAL BAND

Band Members  Eicca Toppinen Paavo Lötjönen Perttu Kivilaakso Mikko Sirén Apocalyptica has always been very creative project definitely rooted in the here and now", is how Perttu Kivilakso, at 24 the youngest of the now down to three riders of the apocalypse, explains the philosophy behind the new album. "Once, creativity for us meant imitating the typical Heavy Metal guitar sound on our instruments. Now it means exploring our own musical vision. We simply wanted to employ our instruments on a much wider scale and also got interested in developing new techniques for the cello." Hundreds and hundreds of lonely hours were spent in the studio searching for their own sound. The result, plain and simple: "We created a new musical style, cello-rock." On their predecessor "Cult", Apocalyptica had first dissolved musical boundaries. Back home in Finland, the album was consequently reviewed by journalists from the classical terrain - "and what...

Sweddish Metal Scene - Inspiring Bands

Some of the best metal bands from Sweden are: 1. Opeth Not only are they the best band in Sweden, Opeth ranks right up there in the entire metal genre. They are an extremely diverse group, mixing death metal with many other styles, and even using acoustic instruments in some of their songs. The vocals are also diverse, and the lyrics are exceptional. 2. In Flames Even with multiple lineup changes In Flames continues to be at the top of the death metal genre. Mixing death metal growls with clean singing, they have a wide appeal that grows with each release. 3. Random Black Metal Pics

Black is the night, metal we fight  Power amps set to explode.  Energy screams, magic and dreams  Satan records the first note. We chime the bell, chaos and hell  Metal for maniacs pure.  Faster than steel, fortune on wheels  Brain haemorrhage is the cure. For BLACK METAL  lay down your souls to the gods rock 'n roll  Freaking so wild, nobodys mild  Giving it all that you got.  Wild is so right, metal tonight  Faster than over the top.  Open the door, enter hell's core  Black is the code for tonight.  Atomic force, feel no remorse  Crank up the amps now its night

Wondering How To Begin Your Own Black Metal Band ?

High popularity not expected Decide if you are going for a full band or a single man project. Burzum, Nortt ,Xasthur are few one man prject black metal bands. But it requires high skills. If you want a band, appropriate number of members is about 4. A vocalist, guitarist, drummer and a bassist. A vocalist can be bassist as well. The vocalist will have to be able of snarling (also called shrieking) and maybe growling too. The vocals in black metal are mostly mid- to high pitched. Your guitarists should tune their guitar in either classical tuning (E) or D. Remember, this is not meant to be played as deep as death metal. Heavy distortion is a must; get a distortion pedal or an amp with the ability to turn up the gain. They should know how to play in 16th notes (also called tremolo notes). The drummer should most preferable know how to blastbeat at a fast pace. He should also have a double pedal or two singles with 2 base-drums. China cymbals give you a good sound as well as bells...

X-Mantra : Metal Band From Nepal

Think of the loyals of metal music in Nepal and you’ll think of young boys and some adult men banging their heads with metal heavyweights like Megadeth and Metallica. And think about the first metal band of Nepal and you’ll surely think about the one and only X- MANTRA. They have already gained a solid cult following in the valley and their music and their influences have also made quite an impact on other major cities of Nepal. Their first album made quite good impact on the Nepali metal scene. Now with so much to look forward to and new metallers emerging from the call of the metal pioneers, Nepali music (metal, in fact) can start anew itself. X-MANTRA comprises of Rojesh Shrestha on vocals, Sandeep Tuladhar on lead guitars,Ritesh Shrestha on the bass guitar, and Anuj Shakya on the drums. Their first single "Shaleek" was featured in Music Isles Compilation, which became one of the most recognized songs in the concerts. Shortly after that compilation, the band release...

New Burzum Album Releasing in 2010

Varg Vikernes, the Norwegian black metal musician and racist psycho who's as famous for murdering founding Mayhem guitarist Euronymous in 1993 as he is for his music as Burzum, has announced that he will be releasing a new album in 2010. Vikernes, who was released from prison this year, posted a lengthy message online from which the following is excerpted: "Why more of Burzum? Well, I am what I am; a musician. Musicians produce music, when they can, and now I can; I am no longer imprisoned by the criminal anti-Norwegian regime in Norway. Will my music be any good? My guess is that if You like Burzum You like Burzum. If You don't You don't. I do try to change all the time, but most of the time I fail, and many appreciate that. Others don't. "The coming album is called Den Hvite Guden (The White God) and is a musical and lyrical description of the the White God (alias Apollon, Baldr, Belenus, Belus, Bragi, Byelobog, Jarilo, et cetera) and the annual eve...
