KURT COBAIN'S DEATH: SUICIDE OR MURDER ?

The events surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain are filled with lies, contradictions in logic, and countless inconsistencies. Kurt had 3 times the lethal dose of heroin (225 mgs) in his blood system. Medical experts say such an amount will leave you incapacitated and cause you to lapse into a coma within seconds, if not kill you instantly. Kurt could not have done this, neatly put away all his belongngs,  roll down his sleeves and been able to pick up a shotgun to shhot himself. According to police reports, there were no fingerprints on the shotgun, on the pen found with the "suicide" note, or the box of shotgun shells found beside Kurt. This indicates the crime scene was "swept" clean before the body was dicovered. There is evidence that circumstances were manipulated to prevent Kurt from using his own car and gaining access to his own money in the days leading up to his death. Someone also attempted to use his credit card up until the morning of April 8th. Medical...

Nothing Else Matters: Metallica and Apocalyptica

This is one of the very few love songs of Metallica. According to James Hetfield (vocalist of Metallica), he wrote the song about a girlfriend he once had, but when he looks back at it, he can't remember why he wrote it. Now, Metallica just considers it a song about their fans, because "nothing else matters" but their fans. This mild music video is perfect for a soft song with simple and melodic pluckings and solo and blending vocals of James. This song was covered by "Apocalyptica". The covered version is not different than what they have been doing. Its a symphonic instrumental with no vocals, guitars or drums. Lyrics: So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are And nothing else matters Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind...

Dreamer: Ozzy Osbourne

Well, this is the emotional song from the solo album of Ozzy Osbourne featuring Rob Trujillo (Metallica) in bass guitars and Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) in leads that pulled me into Ozzy's music. I just figured Trujillo and Wylde when watching back this video. This song is about Osbourne's dream of different world for better living and happiness of children. It carries an introspective about the sad state of the world. You can see in this video directed by Rob Zombie. Ozzy compares this to John Lennon's "Imagine," which contains the line, "You might say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." He tries to convey the message that God and Jesus have nothing to do with our fate - the power is within us to bring the real change. Lyrics: Gazing through the window at the world outside Wondering will mother earth survive Hoping that mankind will stop abusing her sometime After all there's only just the two of us And here we are still...

My List Of Top 10 Metal Frontmen

James Alan Hetfield                                                     Dani Filth                 A frontman in music means leading musician of the band. There are thousands of metal bands out there and they produce music of their own kind. Every band members are equally important for the band's success and popularity but in the bands I follow there are frontmen whose presence or absence makes a huge difference at least for me. I've listed my top 10 metal frontmen on the basis of inspiration I get from them: 1. James Alan Hetfiled (vocals, lyrics, guitars) - Metallica 2. Bruce Dickinson (vocals, lyrics and guitar in few songs) - Iron Maiden 3. Mikael Akerfeldt (vocals, lyrics, lead guitars, awesome acoustic guitar...

The Greatest 4 Js In The History Of Music

These legends have made invaluable contributions to this immense world of music and provided a new direction of it. In their era, huge mass followed them and their music and that haven't changed in present as well. Whatever they wore became a fashion and whatever they sang became the voice of everyone. The greatest four "J"s in the history of music according to me (arranged alphabetically) are: 1. Janis Joplin:   Janis Lyn Joplin  (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer, songwriter and music arranger. She rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company and later as a solo artist. In 2004,  Rolling Stone  magazine ranked Joplin number 46 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time,   and number 28 on its 2008 list of 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. 2. Jim Morrison:   James Douglas "Jim" Morrison  (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971) was an A...

Earthquake Strikes Haiti: United We Stand

"A huge rescue operation is under way this morning after a powerful earthquake hit Haiti, toppling buildings in the capital, Port-au-Prince, burying people in rubble and triggering repeated aftershocks in what is feared to be a major catastrophe. A 7.0-magnitude quake – the biggest recorded in this part of the Caribbean and the largest to hit Haiti in more than 200 years – rocked Port-au-Prince last night, collapsing a hospital and sending houses tumbling into ravines." My day began reading this heart breaking news. The strongest earthquake in more than 200 years rocked Haiti today leaving behind a deep scar on the face of earth taking thousands of lives. Help in any possible way that you can and join other contributors to heal this wound. Disasters are un-alarmed and furious...... It comes in different forms and within few seconds it takes thousands and thousands of lives challenging the "HUMANITY". Today, whole Haiti has been struck by it in the form of earthquake...

Tuning your Guitar

Its just been about 2 years that I started playing guitar and believe me ,it was really fun learning it. I'm a beginner myself but I would love to share little of knowledge and experience I have. The posts may not be useful at all to others except fresh beginners. So, lets start with tuning a guitar. Generally the songs are played in the standard tuning especially in "E standard". Below is the picture of a neck of a guitar showing the notes of different open strings. The part of neck between two metal ridges (actually called fret wires)  as shown in the picture are called frets. Usually your guitar will have a marking at 3rd,  5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st and 24th frets. 1st string (thinnest one - in the picture its tuned to E5) 6th string (thickest one- in the picture its tuned to E3) Its easier to understand if I mention 6th string as just a bass version of the 1st string. They are the same notes with differences in resonating frequencies. If you look at ...

My Top 10 Bon Jovi Songs

Bon Jovi is one of the best band I have ever listened to in "Rock" genre. The first song from them that I listened to was "Its my life" which compelled me to get trapped into their immense world of melodic music. Their best 10 songs according to me are: Bed of Rose Always In these Arms Its my life Never say good bye I'll be there for you Wanted Dead or alive Blaze of Glory Two story town Thank you for loving me

You Know You're Right: Nirvana

"Rather be dead than cool......." I remember Kurt Cobain saying this in one of his songs. I can't explain how cool this guy was; I like each an every song he sang. When I listened to this song for the first time, I thought this song was awesome but it became more special when I read that this was the last recorded song of "Nirvana". Cobain wrote this song as a sarcastic reference to his wife Courtney Love, at a very turbulent time in their relationship (shortly before his suicide), the title and predominant lyric: "you know your right" and also "nothing really bothers her, she just wants to love herself", both refer to Kurt's frustration with Courtney. This song was not released until 2002 and Courtney had played this song live with her band members tributing to Cobain before the release. Lyrics: I will never bother you I will never promise too I will never follow you I will never bother you Never say a word again I will crawl away for go...

Metallica And Megadeth: Song Similarities

This is what Dave Mustaine once told about him and Metallica. "In the beginning, I was the guitar player in Metallica, Hetfield was the mastermind behind the lyrics and Lars was back there banging on his drum set. We gave this style of music a format and a direction - I'll always be proud of that. It was like the town wasn't big enough for the three of us (Mustaine, Hetfield, Ulric). There was just too much personality. It was like having three Dr. Frankensteins in one band. Anyway, it all came to a head one day when James kicked a dog of mine. We were all really plowed at the time - we always were. Anyway, one thing led to another and I hit James in the face. He told me to get my shit and get out. I told him that he couldn't fire me because I had already quit. In retrospect, James and Lars were really focused in their own way, and I wasn't. I begged to differ with almost everything just for the sake of being argumentative. But that's me. I'm a sarcastic fu...

CONQUER ALL: BEHEMOTH

T his is song is definitely a must listen song for metal heads out there who love black/death metal. The music and lyrics of the song was written by Negral (Nickname of vocalist of Behemoth). The content of the song is satanic and inclined much towards providing anti-god message. This type of lyrics is a common feature of Behemoth songs. Well, I don't have anything to praise about their lyrics, I can just ignore their lyrical message for their awesome piece of music. Now talking about the music, its truly one of the best black metal songs I've ever heard. Destructive vocals and really beautiful solo from the mastermind "Negral" with furious drums , heavy riffs and rhythms holds this song a bit high in rating than others for me. Lyrics: Mightiest Self cast out ov Thy Elysium with blood ov nazarene I write the history ov man 2000 years is nothing though its been enough come forth victorious muting the foul angelic choirs! none ov thy empty gods, shall ever stand above m...

Nymphetamine (Fix): Cradle Of Filth

This is one of those very few songs that even people who detest black metal tend to love. The title of the song "Nymphetamine" is a self made word that doesn't exist in dictionary. According to the vocalist of cradle of filth (Dani Filth), the title is derived from two words: nymphet and amphetamine. Nymphet is a pubescent girl regarded as sexually desirable and amphetamines are drugs. As a whole the title implies the addictive properties of women. This song is about a guy in his darkest moment imagining a girl (doesn't exist) created by all of his combined fantasies. Extremely melodic music with Dani's magic in vocals and featured female vocals make this song extraordinary. Lyrics: Lead to the river Midsummer, I waved A "V" of black swans On with hope to the grave And though Red September With skies fire-paved I begged you appear Like a thorn for the holy ones Cold was my soul Untold was the pain I faced when you left me A rose in the rain.... So I swor...

Brighter Than A Thousand Suns: Iron Maiden

Lyrics: We are not the sons of God We are not his chosen people now We have crossed the path he trod We will feel the pain of his beginning Shadow fingers rise above Iron fingers stab the desert sky Oh behold the power of man on it's tower ready for the fall Knocking heads together well Raise a city, build a living hell Join the race to suicide Listen for the tolling of the bell Out of the universe, a strange love is born Unholy union, trinity reformed Yellow sun its evil twin in the black the winds deliver him We will split our souls within Atom seed to nuclear dust is riven Out of the universe, a strange light is born Unholy union, trinity reformed Out of the darkness, Brighter than a thousand suns Out of the darkness, Brighter than a thousand suns Out of the darkness, Brighter than a thousand suns Out of the darkness, Brighter than a thousand suns Bury your problems and bury your dead Bury your head in the sand E=MC squared you can relate, How we made God With our hands Whatever...

My Top 10 Soft Songs By Metal Bands

Most people think that metal music is all about aggression, loudness, distortion and swiftness. And I don't think differently. After hearing metal music for so many years, what I've noticed is that I tend to like almost all the soft songs by Metal bands but I can't say the same for bands that sing them regularly. I don't know the proper reason; may be psychological. If we talk about the songs they are lyrically very less about love and more about life. And that too is a plus point for me. So my list goes like this: While your lips are still red by Nightwish Nothing Else Matters by Metallica Snuff by Slipknot Burden by Opeth Surrounded by Dream Theater Voice of the Soul by Death Tears of Dragon by Bruce Dickinson In this River by Black Label Society Tout le Monde by Megadeth Suicide Note Pt. 1 by Pantera
