Some favorite pieces of poetry

To Live is to Die: Metallica When a Man Lies He Murders Some Part of the World These Are the Pale Deaths Which Men Miscall Their Lives All this I Cannot Bear to Witness Any Longer Cannot the Kingdom of Salvation Take Me Home Dead Boy's Poem: Nightwish "If you read this line, remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse, songmaker`s cry, the one without tears For I`ve given this its strength and it has become my only strength. Comforting home, mother`s lap, chance for immortality Where being wanted became a thrill I never knew The sweet piano writing down my life" "Teach me passion for I fear it`s gone Show me love, hold the lorn So much more I wanted to give to the ones who love me I`m sorry Time will tell (this bitter farewell) I live no more to shame nor me nor you Imagine: John Lennon Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say that I...

Saheed by X-mantra: Democracy Day Special

The English translation for the Nepali word "Saheed" is "Martyrs". Every year, the 7th of Falgun is celebrated as the democracy day in Nepal. The 60th National Democracy Day is being observed today throughout the nation with various programmes. I would like to present this song from the album "Crying for piece" by X-mantra as a tribute to the martyrs of this country on this day. The picture above shows 4 martyrs of Nepal: Gangalal Shrestha, Sukraraj Sastri, Dharmabhakta Mathema and Dasrath Cahnd. X-mantra's Short Band Biography: Think of the loyals of metal music in Nepal and you’ll think of young boys and some adult men banging their heads with metal heavyweights like Megadeth and Metallica. And think about the first metal band of Nepal and you’ll surely think about the one and only X- MANTRA. They have already gained a solid cult following in the valley and their music and their influences have also made quite an impact on other major cities of Nepal...

A Dreaming Beauty: Graveworm

The video posted above is not an official video for this song: "A Dreaming Beauty" by Symphonic Black Metal band from Italy: "Graveworm". This is the same band which made an excellent cover of "Fear of the Dark" by Ironmaiden but most of them misunderstand it as Cradle of Filth's. The song starts out with violins and bagpipes. T vocalist apparently has quite a good range : within a few seconds of his opening death grunts, he lets out a flawless black metal scream as good as any other. The song has reasonably frequent changes in tempo, ranging from mid-pace to fast, and features more excellent use of strings where needed while the synths and bagpipes keep the song moving. The beautiful haunting piece of music is supported by excellent lyrics. Lyrics: Across the open fields, on burial ground Beside the ancient lake, through painful screams When pride of darkness rise, upon the sky We are marching, side by side A darkness feeling our pride The moonchild c...

Progenies of the Great Apocalypse: Dimmu Borgir

"Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" is a song by the Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. It served as their debut single on the album "Death Cult Armageddon". The song features guest vocals by "Immortal" frontman Abbath. Parts of this song and another song ("Eradication Instincts Defined") were used for Hellboy and Stardust trailers and was the theme song to the 2004 MTV series "Battle for Ozzfest". It is also included in the soundtrack of the game "Brütal Legend". The music video features extravagant computer-generated effects to correspond with the song's intensity and prestige. The televised version is edited down from 5:25 to 3:35 and censors the female nudity. It aired frequently on Headbangers Ball and Uranium in the months following its debut. The gothic designed keyboard featured on the music video is also eye catching. This song refers to a war between those with religious restiction and those witho...

Quotes from Kurt Cobain

"It is better to burn out than to fade away" I always remember this quote from the suicide note of Kurt Cobain. When Kurt was 9, he wrote poem for the first time in his wall: "I hate mum, I hate dad, Dad hates mum, Mum hates dad, It just wants to make u feel so sad." Some more quotes from Kurt Cobain/ Nirvana are listed below: "Holding Frances in my arms is the best drug in the world." "I'm here to impeach a president and kill a soap opera star" "Zits are beauty marks" "You know what I hate about rock? I hate tie-dyed tee shirts. I wouldn't wear a tie-dyed tee shirt unless it was dyed with the urine of Phil Collins and the blood of Jerry Garcia." "At this point I have a request for our fans. If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us - leave us the fuck alone! Don't come to our shows and don't buy our records." “My songs have always ...

We Will Rise: Arch Enemy

When I heard this song for the first time (i.e. hearing arch enemy for the first time), I didn't have a bit of clue that the band had female vocalist. Either Angela Gossow is really skilled in growling or I have ear problems. This song from the album "Anthems of Rebellion" is a kind of rebellion song. The lyrics of this song is awesome (the lines on the lyrics are very strong) but by looking at it I think that the interpretation of the lines will vary a lot from people to people depending upon their perception. In my and most of the metal head's opinion, this song is about metal heads. It clearly tells you to keep on moving, keep on rising regardless of what people speak. Strong vocals, good lyrics, heavy guitar riffs and lightning fast drum beats stands this song out from the rest of metal songs. Its probably the best song from Arch Enemy. Lyrics: Tear down the walls Wake up the world Ignorance is not... Bliss So fed up with the Second best Our time, Is here and now ...

My List of Top 10 Metal Bands Of All Time

S urprisingly, this list of my favorite (best) top 10 metal bands of all time has gone through a lot of change in a year.  In my view "Opeth" is one of the best metal band in the metal history up till today but I had never listened to their song a year back. So from nowhere, they popped into the first place.  1. Opeth 2. Metallica 3. Iron Maiden 4. Megadeth 5. Pantera 6. Black Sabbath 7. Cradle of Filth 8. Dream Theater 9. Nighwish 10. Judas Priest

A Tout le Monde: Megadeth (Its Not About Suicide)

MTV banned the video because they thought it promoted suicide. They did show it after some special comments were added, explaining how many kids commit suicide every year in the US. This message appeared at the end of the video: "Suicide is not an answer. Get help." The woman and child in the video are Mustaine's wife Pam and son, Justis. This song is often misinterpreted about suicide as the lyrics appears as a suicide note. But according to Dave Mustaine (vocalist and lyricist) : 'A Tout Le Monde' is based on a dream I had, where my mother came back from heaven to say 'I love you.' It's about me talking to her again.' The chorus of the song is written in French which means : "To all the world. To all my friends. I love you. I must leave." This song is not about suicide but the words in the song are the words that people utter in their deathbed. Dave Mustaine clearly states "It's not a suicide song. What it is, it's, you, it...

Saffron's Curse: Cradle Of Filth

When I look back at these masterpieces from Cradle of Filth, I clearly see how their music have degraded. This is a perfect black metal song showing Dani's skill of various vocal ranges, complicated keyboard riffs and heavy guitars. Like always the lyrics is dark and deep with use of gothic and ancient words. This is what I found on the web about the meaning of this whole song: The narrator is satan and he's talking about how he heard her crying for help from god and the colder savior did'nt answer her. She tries to kill herself. He loves her beauty and mind and becomes determined to have her as his own so he stops her. She goes with him because she believes god does not care. She sins and severs heaven by accepting the devil's offer of power so that she has that second silhouette of the devil with her. Then it talks of how she indulges in all the sins and takes pleasure in them. She makes her suffering that of others. But still she knows it is wrong and thus is in a wh...
